Run, bike, swim. It's a mantra Shawn Tausz Meyers lives by. She's charged through the finish line of countless triathlons and mastered the marathon distance. That's with the help of friend and training partner Vanessa Polvi, who has churned out record-setting times in the pool as a competitive swimmer.

The multi-sport athletes both discovered their love for health and fitness years ago and now share their passion for healthy living as Corporate Wellness Consultants for Wellsource.

Support for your wellness program

Vanessa and Shawn help clients develop corporate wellness programs that positively impact the lives of employees, lower health claims and absenteeism, and increase productivity. They recently helped launch a service called Wellsource® Total Support™ to make it easier for clients to manage their wellness program. With their one-on-one consulting, client administrators have more time to focus on the success of their program and improving their ROI.

"I love helping people become more active," Shawn says. "When we help a client establish a wellness program, it's exciting to hear about people making changes to improve their lives. And it's not just about weight loss or better nutrition. When people really get on board with a wellness program, they reduce their stress level and realize living healthier has a real positive effect on their life."

Vanessa knows firsthand how the right training program and motivation can make a difference. With her background in exercise physiology and health education, she has helped dozens of companies establish wellness programs that work. She's also trained Ironman triathletes how to dominate the 2.4-mile swim, coached the swim team at Minnesota State University, and taught college courses in health education.

"My personal drive for health and wellness really matches what Wellsource offers clients," Vanessa says. "I'm really passionate about positively impacting as many people as we can. When a company gets people to participate in a wellness program, we're helping their employees learn to create happiness and longevity that impacts their job and their life."

With a customized wellness program in place, Wellsource clients see an increase in employee participation, lower health care costs and greater ROI. Our Corporate Wellness Consultants provide ongoing support and program management and can help client wellness staff design incentive programs to make their wellness programs more successful.

"One of my clients hosted a hydration challenge and encouraged their employees to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day," Shawn says. "They handed out giant 64-ounce water bottles, and that really helped people see how much water they should be drinking. When you think creatively, you can come up with some creative incentives that will really get people to participate in your wellness program."
