NCQA Health Assessment Focuses on Quality

Unless you’re into art, you likely don’t know about Tilman Kriesel. He’s a third generation art collector. But not just any art. His grandfather’s collection included classical modern and German expressionism pieces by Pablo Picasso, Fernand Léger, Paul Klee, and a group of artists known as Die Brücke (or The Bridge). Kriesel appreciates works by emerging contemporary artists such as Peppi Bottrop and Isa Genzken.

When asked about the best advice he ever received about collecting, Kriesel replied, “My grandfather told me, it’s all about quality.”

Wellsource couldn’t agree more. Quality matters – whether collecting art or buying a health risk assessment (HRA). And while an artist may produce an excellent painting or sculpture, it sometimes takes an independent evaluation to confirm the quality.

That’s why, when the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) released guidelines for Certification of HRAs and self-management tools, we were one of the first companies to submit our products for review. And we’ve been continuously certified ever since. It’s a rigorous process, but it’s worth it.

NCQA is the “gold standard” in quality evaluation and measurement. They are dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA Certification lets our customers know that they can confidently rely on our health assessments and self-management product, Health Shelf® -  for their population health and wellness initiatives. And when seeking their own NCQA Accreditation, it’s reassuring for our customers to know they have partnered with an HRA vendor that believes as passionately about quality as they do.

What do customers get by using NCQA-certified HRAs and self-management tools?

  • Annual usability testing and internal evaluation that promotes product improvement
  • Thorough documentation of all customer-facing features for ease of use
  • Enhanced user experience that encourages HRA completion and behavior change
  • Oversight relief as part of the NCQA accreditation process
  • And more

We know the business of health risk assessments and self-management tools. We’ve been creating them longer than any other HRA vendor. Quality, innovation, and optimal health are in our company DNA. So when we chose to seek independent evaluation of our products, we looked for a certifying body that reflected our values. We chose NCQA. Read how NCQA Certification affirms and inspires quality for all our assessments and self-management tools.
