Greetings from Portland, Ore.,

We are delighted to announce that Wellsource has earned Wellness and Health Promotion certifications from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for meeting NCQA’s requirements for Health Appraisals and Self-Management Tools.

Re-Certification Required Every Two Years

Certification from NCQA is the “gold standard” for wellness and health promotion products. NCQA purposely sets their standards high to encourage continuous enhancement.

“Earning NCQA WHP certification is a testament to our commitment to quality and relentless focus on empowering individuals to enjoy healthy lifestyles that prevent chronic disease and reduce healthcare costs,” remarked Chris McReynolds, CEO of Wellsource.

NCQA Reviewers Examine Wellsource Documentation

The NCQA certification is a voluntary and rigorous process that many companies choose not to pursue. Our submission took countless hours of meetings over several months to gather input and insights from every area of our company: product, legal, IT, account management, marketing and client services.

Our participation demonstrates our confidence in the ability of our family of WellSuite® Health Risk Assessments and Self-Management Tools to stand up to the intense scrutiny by the experts who conduct reviews for NCQA.

HRA Clients Value NCQA Certification

Wellsource has received NCQA certification continuously since 2008. This is the first time we have pursued and earned certification for Wellness and Health Promotion products. Prior NCQA certifications were under Health Information Products standards for Health Appraisals and Self-Management Tools.

“Our NCQA certification gives our clients additional confidence in the scientific validity and evidence-based foundation of our products,” commented Dr. Joseph Raphael, Director of Health & Research for Wellsource.

Our clients who are undergoing their own NCQA accreditation can save considerable time and effort by receiving credit for all of the areas in which we have NCQA certifications. We met the requirements for WHP 5 and WHP 7, which are the equivalent of MEM 1 and MEM 2 for Health Appraisals and Self-Management Tools and PHM 4, Elements A through K (NCQA's new Wellness and Prevention standards). We also met WHP 3 (Privacy and Confidentiality) and WHP 13 (Measuring Effectiveness).

“I congratulate Wellsource for distinguishing itself by earning Wellness & Health Promotion Certification,” said Margaret E. O’Kane, President of NCQA.
