Wellsource, Inc. was recently ranked among the top 10 healthiest places to work in Oregon by the Portland Business Journal and Healthiest Employers, LLC.
Wellsource was selected as a Healthiest Employer of Oregon award winner among businesses with a workforce of 2-99 employees. Portland Business Journal publisher Craig Wessel presented the award to Wellsource founder Dr. Don Hall during the 2014 HR Summit and Healthiest Employers Luncheon last month in Portland, Ore.
"It's exciting to be recognized as one of Oregon's Healthiest Employers," says Wellsource Corporate Wellness Consultant Shawn Meyers. "Most of our employees are actively engaged in our wellness program and support each other in making healthy lifestyle choices."
To be considered for the Healthiest Employers of Oregon award, employers submit an application and provide details about their employee wellness program initiatives and incentives. Applications are then reviewed and scored by standards established by the Healthiest Employers National Program in six key areas: culture and leadership; foundational components; strategic planning; communications and marketing; programming and interventions; and reporting and analysis.
"Our employees take daily walks, attend on-site fitness classes, and participate in monthly health challenges," says Meyers. "We also host lunch and learn sessions on health-related topics and an annual wellness day that includes biometric screenings, flu vaccines, and fitness testing. In return for participating, Wellsource employees can earn discounts on health insurance premiums and gift cards for achieving quarterly goals. It's all part of the culture of health we've created."
Wellsource is also recognized as a Fit Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association and helps employers promote health, prevent disease, increase productivity, and enhance quality of life with its NCQA-certified health assessments and wellness tools.
